Sony along with some third-party developers will be offering free upgrades from PS4 to PS5.

Keep in mind
Sony has let us know that while we will be able to play most PS4 games on the PS5 (even without upgrading), not all games will be available to be played.
Here is a list of games that will be playable only on the PS4:
- DWVR
- Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One
- TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2
- Just Deal With It!
- Shadow Complex Remastered
- Robinson: The Journey
- We Sing
- Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
- Shadwen
- Joe’s Diner
Sony has also confirmed that your game saves and game data will also be transferable from PS4 to PS5 so you won’t have to worry about starting over and losing your game progress.
To play PS4 games on PS5, you will need to still use your PS4 controllers because the PS5 controllers will support different functions built for PS5 games.
