Hades finally officially came out in September 2020 after being in early access for almost a couple of years.

The game has won the hearts of many critics and players alike. It is one of the best-reviewed games of 2020 when it comes to critics, and it is widely loved by the general public too.

This is because the game features great combat, as well as the touching story of Zagreus as he attempts to escape from the realm of his father, Hades.

In Hades, you’ll actually be going against the god of the dead himself while playing as his son.

On each run that strictly goes against your father’s orders, you’ll be facing all sorts of different threats. Here’s how you can prepare yourself in the best way possible.

How To Make Every Run in Hades Faster and Easier?

When it comes to Hades, everything is actually reliant on your and your skill alone. Every single run’s result depends on your own ability, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t get some help along the way.

In every single chamber, you’ll be finding all sorts of rewards that will be helping you along the way, most of which will be gifts from the Olympian Gods themselves.

Once you get an idea of which of these rewards you need the most and how all of them can help you, you’ll surely be doing much better in Hades.

  1. Daedalus Hammers

Arguably the most important chamber reward of all are the Daedalus Hammers. These are the hammers left behind by Hephaestus, who was the blacksmith of the Gods themselves. While Hephaestus sadly isn’t in the game himself, you’ll find that he’ll still be helping you out a lot with his hammers.

These hammers of his upgrade your weapon permanently for a run. These upgrades are usually very helpful and you can use them to your advantage in all sorts of different situations.

Depending on the weapon and the choices that you have in front of you, the Daedalus Hammers will allow you to upgrade just about any aspect of your weapon.

You can upgrade range, damage, damage to armor, gain entirely new abilities for your weapons for the current run, and much more. These changes are obviously just for the current run that you’re playing, but they help a lot more than most boons, and can never be removed from your weapon until you die either.

This is why it is recommended that you mainly prioritize Daedalus Hammers and choose to go into the chambers that have them.

2. The Best Boons

You might read here and there that this God’s boon is better than the other God’s and all that, but you should really pay much attention to this.

Every single deities’ boons are great in their own right, and you shouldn’t have to prioritize any single one of them.

It is recommended that you keep using different ones with every single run so that you can truly find out which ones help you the most.

However, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t some particular strengths to each boon that you should look forward to. For example, there are obviously some boons that are much better for the attack as compared to defense and vice versa, while there are obviously some that are better for melee, some for the cast, etc.

When it comes to melee attacks, the two god boons which you’ll likely find the most helpful are Ares and Poseidon.

Both of their special and attack boons are great, as Poseidon’s knockback effects as well as Ares’ doom effects are capable of helping you deal a lot more damage.

When it comes to ranged, Artemis and Zeus are quite great. In terms of defense, it must be said that Athena and a couple of specific bonuses from Aphrodite help out the most in that department.

Like this, there are specific strengths to each deities’ boons, so you can’t say for sure that any specific one is the best.

Your weapon also plays a key role in determining which boons are the best for you, as Artemis and Dionysus are quite great for the bow, Poseidon and Zeus for the spear, Athena for the shield, and more of the sort. That’s why it’s important that you experiment with all of the boons yourself, and determine which ones work the best for you.

3. Don’t Just Focus on Power-Ups

Just focusing on the chamber rewards that can help you deal damage isn’t important. You need to keep in mind that health is important as well, which is why you should get centaur hearts every now and then to increase your max health.

Getting coins is a good option as well, as Charon sometimes has great things in store at his little shops. Darkness and gem rewards are also something that you should occasionally focus on, as both can be used for permanent upgrades that last even after a run is over.

In short, strong power-ups aren’t the only important rewards in Hades, and thinking from a tactical point of view greatly helps your chances of succeeding as well.

4. Knowing What Keepsakes to Use

There are lots of different keepsakes that you can get in Hades. These keepsakes are things that you’ll be earning by gifting things to all the different main characters.

Every single keepsake has its own great advantages, and you can only keep one with you at a time.

Once again, it is recommended that you try all the different ones out and don’t listen to anyone that might tell you that any specific keepsake is much better than the rest. They all have great bonuses and are worth checking out.

It is important to note that you can also unlock a bonus that allows you to change keepsakes between each region of Hades’ realm. You can unlock this through the house contractor, and it is highly recommended that you do so as it makes things much easier in each run.
